- Truly, can we have this finale without Dr. Kay. She’s been getting on my nerves.
- Oh, Mike. You have no idea what El is planning. Or should I say Kali.
- Is this Murray’s first time in the Upside Down?
- Probably the most impressive thing is the kids’ glasses staying on.
- Okay, so that thing is pulsing. Not good.
- Erica isn’t wrong.
- Damn, I think Mr. Clarke is dying now that he’s all excited for helping.
- Welp, where did Erica and Mr. Clarke go?
- OH, NOT THE VAN
- Bottling emotions. Relatable.
- Why do I get the feeling the ladder is going to break?
- Not going to lie, I forgot what the plan was.
- Flashbacks to baby El.
- I love Murray’s sarcasm.
- El, Hopper can’t make that promise. You know that.
- Oof, double promise. El, you aren’t going to break Hopper’s heart. You can’t.
- This is dramatic, but I’m laughing at how big El’s head looks in that thing.
- Mike, now is not the time.
- Okay, so time to have this discussion, I guess. I feel like the discussion should have happened in the last episode.
- Is Max hallucinating?
- And now she has control of her body.
- Yep, more of Vecna’s mind games.
- How did she get sucked back in? Through that ritual thing with the 12 kids? Or is it because of El?
- Okay, El and Kali. Good. I was very worried about Max. Did no one explain to Vickie what Max would look like when it happened?
- Wasn’t Will going to join them in the Abyss?
- Max has seen a lot, hasn’t she? No one needs to see Mr. Wheeler feeling up Mrs. Wheeler.
- Where did Vickie take Max? Did they have a plan for this?
- Thirty seconds. Seems like plenty of time.
- That is one insane version of Oklahoma.
- STEVE!
- We need Spiderman!
- Oh, thank god! Good man Jonathan.
- Time to storm the castle.
- Suck it, Armstrong. Nice one Lucas.
- Henry, go back outside and stay there.
- Finally, Kali using her powers to help out.
- Welp, now he knows Kali is part of this. At least the kids ran.
- And there he goes.
- Look at this bro bonding moment.
- No, keep calling them nuggets.
- Good man, Steve. Good man.
- Derek, run faster!
- What is Hopper seeing?
- I swear, is this Kali again?
- No, wait, it’s Henry. He’s trying to get Hopper to pull El out of the tank.
- DON’T TOUCH HOPPER
- Ah fuck.
- WAIT, WAIT, WAIT
- Damnit Henry!
- He played on Hopper’s fear and screwed the plan up.
- Who leaves the plan just laying out like that?
- RUN KIDS, RUN
- KALI, PUT THE GUN DOWN
- Oh, this hurts my heart. Don’t let Hopper die.
- I hope Hopper’s words got through to Kali too.
- DEREK! RUN!
- Is this when Henry finally goes in the cave?
- Saying your safe is never a good sign.
- Of course she gave him a flare gun.
- NO, NO, NO
- Holly, take the kids out of the cave and into that tunnel, now.
- Come on, Will. Tap into those powers.
- Not this stupid sound again.
- Hopper really just left Kali, and I don’t blame him.
- Let’s go Murry, blow things up!
- Derek won’t be able to get through that hole!
- Murray to the rescue! Look at him standing there like an action hero.
- Oh, no. We don’t need to see that.
- Kali did get shot. Stomach wounds are the worst.
- Welp, first death and truly didn’t hurt. We all knew she wanted to take herself out on the bridge. She’s just early.
- So, the cave terrified Henry more but the tunnel is where the memory really is found.
- El blames Hopper now, doesn’t she? But truly, she was going down no matter what.
- This is very sweet, but do we have time for this?
- Oh, no. Don’t give the bracelet back. El, that was mean.
- That doesn’t mean she isn’t going to die on the bridge though. She didn’t promise him to come back this time.
- Oh, hello Mind flayer. Fancy seeing you again.
- The first nosebleed.
- So, Henry made a connection with the mind flayer as a kid. And it took him over.
- He didn’t remember being consumed by the Mind Flayer, but now he does. And he still doesn’t want to turn against it.
- Is Holly still laying on the ground, behind Henry?
- I guess those theories that Henry would help them is out the window.
- OH, THE TREE IS THE MIND FLAYER
- The kids are still in there, right? Their bodies? If they escape, then does it fall apart?
- There’s El. Does she know what’s going on or is she just fighting the Mind Flayer with no idea about its connection to Henry?
- Good, very good. Take out Henry, take out the Mind Flayer, right? Or not?
- Of course, Nancy volunteers to be bait.
- There’s apparently a spinoff featuring Nancy, so I assume she survives.
- That hit on rocks should have broken El’s bones.
- Isn’t Will feeling all this pain right now?
- Way to use that flare gun, Mike.
- FOR EDDIE!
- There you go, Will! Use those powers again.
- BURN, BABY BURN
- The kids are still in there though, right? Like, their bodies are burning.
- Is that it? Is it over?
- So, the inside didn’t burn. Got it.
- Are the other kids waking up?
- Isn’t Barb’s body in one of those things? From a long time ago?
- Welp, Vecna is still alive. Awkward.
- Do it, Joyce!
- So, that’s why Barb’s, Bob’s, and Eddie’s actors were at the premiere of the finale. Those flashbacks.
- I’m glad Joyce was the one to finally take Vecna out.
- But we still have Dr. Kay to deal with. And the bridge.
- GOOD SONG CHOICE
- I love Derek.
- El, you didn’t.
- Oh, come on. I’m so mad.
- This sucks.
- I’m mostly just mad, not even sad.
- Man, if Kali had decided to live before, couldn’t she have just used her powers to show the military they both died? It would have been better.
- The military here truly sucks. They wouldn’t have let Mike walk up there on his own after that.
- But, Will had powers when he was connected to Vecna. Couldn’t they use his blood, or at least try to use his blood? Because that makes El’s sacrifice pointless.
- Steve is coaching a baseball team. That’s really cute.
- Max can walk again!
- I’m glad Max and Lucas are back together again.
- Dustin and his mom are so cute.
- Hopper looks good for having gone through the loss of another daughter.
- Poor Mike. He’s still hurting.
- Waterworks are coming now.
- Hopper is talking from experience now. I’m glad he found a way to accept El’s death.
- Looks like Mr. Wheeler survived after all.
- I’m glad they are letting Max graduate despite her being in a coma for 18 months.
- I’m loving the new hair for the Wheeler women.
- Valedictorian Dustin is a great thing.
- I love that Dustin brought up D&D in his speech.
- Erica, what do you have there?
- I’m really glad Derek and Holly are friends now.
- HELLFIRE LIVES
- GREAT JOB, DUSTIN!
- Flipping off the principle is so funny.
- Erica is so great!
- Summer school for graduating seniors. Ha. Don’t make me laugh.
- What did Mike just realize?
- Yeah, Dustin. Get the girl.
- Steve is a sex ed teacher? HAHAHA
- Jonathan is making a movie at NYU. Good for him.
- Robin is at Smith and Nancy dropped out of Emerson.
- Nancy has a job at the Herald. You go, girl.
- Who doesn’t love a crying sheesh with friends?
- Meetup at Robin’s weird Uncle’s house. Can I join?
- I wish we got more of that foursome. They are such a great group.
- Hopper wants to move somewhere with Joyce. Aw.
- AWW
- That’s a great ending for them. Hopper’s a romantic at heart.
- Their height difference is adorable.
- A D&D campaign instead of the party. Perfect.
- Max being so angry cracks me up.
- This is the perfect way to end. They succeeded in their campaign this time.
- I would pay for a road trip show featuring Dustin and Steve.
- Aw, Will gets a boyfriend.
- Mike becomes an author. That’s fitting.
- So, I was right. Kali helped make it seem like El died.
- El survived. I wonder if she ever gets back in touch with Mike and Hopper.
- Oh, look. Waterfalls.
- I see. We don’t know if El really survived or not. It’s just Mike’s theory.
- Holly setting up her own campaign is adorable.
- I do wish we got to see more about the military’s failings. Dr. Kay needed to have the rest of her story told. And the town just falling back into its normal self after being taken over by the military seems a bit strange to me.
That’s it, folks. That’s the end of Stranger Things. I hope you enjoyed this journey with me.
