- This week, we are getting Bill and Frank action and I’m so excited to see more of the backstory about them. And I just want to see Ellie and Bill go toe-to-toe.
- This episode is just titled Episode 3.
- I love that they kept the throw a sandwich at them line in the recap.
- Is this Frank or Bill we are seeing first?
- Nope, it’s Joel.
- Oh man. It’s a little memorial for Tess. That hurts.
- Only ten miles away from Boston. I hope they walk fast.
- Yes Ellie. He can’t blame you for Tess dying. I’m glad she didn’t let him just keep icing her out.
- That bridge is so pretty.
- Oh, so Joel has met Frank.
- All those missed shots in the game getting called out.
- Almost, Ellie. Almost.
- I love that Ellie did not stay back at all.
- Not Mortal Kombat. And that reference to Riley. I’m hurting more.
- Time to loot.
- What’s Ellie going to find in there? Ooh, secret door.
- Ellie, going into the cellar is how we find things we don’t want to find.
- WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE?
- God, having your period in the apocalypse has got to suck.
- Well, hello there Mr. Infected. I don’t think you can get out.
- It’s like it’s talking to her. Maybe it is, since she was bitten. Can it sense she was bitten too?
- This really is not the show to eat while watching.
- So, they do bleed. Sort of. I’m a bit confused by that. I didn’t think they bled earlier in the show.
- Well, Joel found his stuff.
- Joel really left a gun behind because there’s not a lot of ammo around. He clearly hasn’t played the game.
- Ellie is askig the really questions.
- Now that sounds familiar.
- NOT THE PANCAKE MIX
- I read that someone on Reddit came up with the theory about the flour causing it. And they were right. Does that mean those who are gluten-free were safe from the initial outbreak?
- Oof, not the pit of bones from those the government didn’t have room for.
- Damn government really said screw everyone else.
- Who knows. Maybe one of those that was killed was also immune.
- Oh, not the baby.
- Is this Bill? How’d he get access to the cameras?
- Oh, he hacked them and is hiding from the soldiers.
- Damn, Bill was the smart one here.
- So, he was an apocalypse preparer guy. And all those bottles of wine in his house. Man is really prepeared.
- Now Bill has a town and does what he wants.
- Bill legit knows how to survive. And more wine is always needed.
- That looks like a nice homemade generator.
- Did Bill ever see any infected? That town looked safe to me. We haven’t seen him interact with any.
- Infected, or Frank?
- There’s the infected.
- Bill’s traps! I’m so glad that was included.
- So, Bill’s been there for four years and clearly doing fine.
- So, this is Frank.
- Honestly, I love that he got caught by one of Bill’s traps.
- Bill is not taking any chances. It’s why he’s survived so long.
- NOT THE ARBY’S CALLOUT
- Bill has hot water for showers. He really is living the good life.
- The wonder in Frank’s face at the meal is so good.
- Is that a connection I see? I think it is.
- Why am I tearing up over Frank playing the piano?
- Damn, Bill is good at this.
- It’s a guy, Frank.
- HE KNOWS
- YES
- GIVE US THIS LOVE STORY
- The emotion in Frank’s eyes. God. This is such good acting.
- Bill is so new to it all and it makes it so much better. You’d assume he’s the all knowing one in this, but it’s Frank.
- Three years later. They’ve been together this long.
- THE GOVERMENT ARE ALL NAZIS. I’M CRYING
- Frank wants to fix up their home. This is actually so cute.
- They invited Tess and Joel over for lunch. I’m glad we get to see Tess again.
- I would be running a book trade.
- Frank’s the one who came up with the radio codes. Brilliant.
- So, this is ten years after the outbreak.
- Frank is making Bill run. I need a Frank.
- Bill marveling at a strawberry is such a poignant moment.
- That little giggle was precious.
- SAVE THE STRAWBERRIES
- Oh no. It’s raiders. Take them out Bill!
- Is Bill out there shooting?
- Oh, Bill is preparing Frank for his death. That hurts my heart too.
- The fact that Bill was ready for Joel to help Frank shows how much he grew to trust him.
- Wait, wait. Frank is in a wheelchair now. Why? What happened to him?
- The makeup team did a great job showing the years on them.
- I’m going to guess Frank wants to die because he doesn’t like Bill having to take care of him like this.
- In the first episode, it ended with either Frank or Bill playing an 80’s song, meaning danger. What danger was it?
- Yep, Frank is ready for death.
- I can understand Frank, but also, poor Bill. This must break his heart.
- Why does this show want to make me cry so much?
- NOT THEM GETTING MARRIED
- GOD, THIS SHOW HURTS
- I am also sobbing, Bill.
- Bill, make the man some damn toast.
- I wonder if there was a wheelchair in the town, or if Joel and Tess had to find one for them.
- Is it the same meal as the first one he ever made for him? God, I can’t handle this.
- This is supposed to be about a zombie apocalypse. NOT ABOUT MY HEART BREAKING
- Will Joel and Ellie get there right before Frank passing, or right after?
- I wonder how many bottles of wine Bill and Frank drank over the 20 years?
- OH MY GOD
- Bill also put drugs in the bottle to kill himself too.
- I honestly didn’t see that coming.
- So, will Joel and Ellie find them both dead?
- This is such a beautiful love story and I applaud the creators of the show for giving it the depth and love it deserves.
- How much time has passed since they took the drugs?
- Or was it the literal day before they got there?
- Joel knows something is up since the door was unlocked and no one challenged them.
- Not Bill writing hehehehe.
- This is such a Bill letter.
- To keep Tess safe. Oh, my heart.
- Grieve, Joel. Just let it out.
- Bill left Joel a nice truck.
- This is a good scene from the game.
- Time for more looting.
- Oh, so that’s why the 80’s songs were playing. To show that he was in trouble since he didn’t reset the music.
- The toilet paper. Yes!
- Ellie, don’t break the clock.
- Oh. Ellie found the one gun that was not in the bunker.
- Oh, Bill really did have the good stuff. Deodorant.
- I love the references Ellie makes to space.
- That pullback into the room where the bodies were. Beautiful.
- I honestly didn’t expect this from the episode about Bill, but I appreciate it so much. This was a beautifully written, acted, directed, everything.
- There was only one infected in the entire episode. So different from the game.
